Nicolas Tagliafico has rejected a new contract at Ajax, his agent has revealed.
The 26-year-old has three years left on his deal but his representative, Ricardo Schleper, believes ‘it is time to take a leap’.

Tagliafico was part of the Ajax team that shocked the world by knocking Champions League holders Real Madrid out of the tournament earlier this month.
Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are believed to be interested in the Argentina international.

Schleper told Muy Independiente: “Ajax made an economic offer to match what the clubs claiming to Nicolas could afford, but it was not accepted because it is time to take a leap.
“Let’s see what happens in the market.
“Nico has an enormous virtue that is his professionalism, his entire discipline. This, sooner or later, takes you to the place you want.â€

Tagliafico has hinted at a move to Atletico in the past.
He said: “Before I came to Ajax, we talked about the possibility of LaLiga because it is a league I like and a very competitive one.
“If [manger Diego] Simeone is interested in me and really wants me it means I’m doing well but the important thing now though is to think about Ajax.â€
Tagliafico joined Ajax for £4million from Argentine club Independiente in January 2018.
