The supporters were in a party mood having said goodbye to Wembley – their temporary home of almost two years – and were invited to arrive early.

Gates opened three hours before kick-off where fans made their way in to enjoy the new facilities, including a 65-metre bar.

An opening ceremony, to commemorate the historic night in the club’s history started at 7.15pm.

Fans were treated to a marching band belting out famous Spurs chants of years gone by and an official opening ceremony will take place before the game gets underway at 7.45pm.

Fans will also be allowed to stay in the ground two hours after full-time as they are encouraged to spend their money on food and drink, though their desire may be affected by the result against Palace.

Players arrived just before 6pm to begin preparations for what has become a must-win game for Spurs.
