Lucas Moura’s family members jumped in their swimming pool fully clothed to celebrate his winning goal against Ajax, the Tottenham star’s dad has revealed.

The 26-year-old’s hat-trick saw Spurs come from three goals down on aggregate to book their place in next month’s Champions League final.

Lucas Moura was Tottenham’s hero on Wednesday

Moura struck in the sixth minute of injury time to stun Ajax at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Wednesday.

His father, Jorge Rodrigues, told Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte: “There were still a few seconds to finish. I shouted, ‘the game is not over yet!’

“But the people did not hear me. At the time he scored the third, they jumped in the pool with clothes and everything.”

Rodrigues also admitted he and Moura cried on the phone after the game.

He said: “It was by video, he was on the plane. We cried a lot.

“He kept staring at us, watching us cry, not believing what happened.

“We are all living a dream and we have not woken up to reality yet.”

It was a memorable and emotional night for Tottenham as manager Mauricio Pochettino and Moura broke down in tears at full-time.

In a post-match interview, Moura was shown a replay of his tie-winning goal and cried as he said ‘Football is my life’.
