Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has officially been appointed Manchester United’s permanent manager on a three-year contract.
The ‘Baby-Faced Assassin’ was initially appointed on an interim basis in December after Jose Mourinho was sacked.
Although it may be difficult for United fans to cast their minds back to the start of the season, they will remember it was a rather dark time at Old Trafford.
With star players poised to leave and rumours of boardroom strife, the Red Devils made their worst ever start to a Premier League season.

Champions League qualification was secured, but Paris Saint-Germain loomed in the knockout phase and progressing seemed unlikely.
After being comfortably beaten by rivals Liverpool at Anfield, the United board had seen enough and pulled the proverbial trigger on the Portuguese.
When Solskjaer was confirmed, it was assumed the Norwegian was merely keeping the seat in the Old Trafford dugout warm for the summer when a ‘big-name’Â manager would be appointed.
Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane were initially touted as potential successors as fans clamoured for success after years in the wilderness.
But, as the critics voiced their concerns, Solskjaer continued to pick up results both at home and away and suddenly became the leading contender for the full-time position.
After toppling PSG in the Parc des Princes, the calls for the 46-year-old to be appointed turned from a murmur to a crescendo.
And, when you look at the Premier League table since his appointment, it is now surprise to see why.
With a host of rumoured transfer targets potentially lined up for the summer, United fans will be delighted to see Ole finally at the wheel.
