Chelsea won’t let any players leave during club’s transfer ban, says Andreas Christensen

Chelsea players will not be sold during the club’s transfer ban, according to defender Andreas Christensen.

The Blues were handed a two-window ban last month for breaking FIFA’s transfer rules in relation to the recruitment of minors.

Chelsea have denied any wrongdoing and lodged an appeal with the governing body earlier this month.

However, the club were ‘astonished’ by FIFA’s decision to reject their request to freeze the ban during an appeal process.

Christensen, who has been used sparingly by manager Maurizio Sarri this season, told Ekstra Bladet: ”The messages we’ve got are that Chelsea can’t appeal the case and therefore want to keep all the players.

The Denmark international has started just three Premier League games this term, but has been a regular in their Europa League campaign.

Chelsea await Czech club Slavia Praha in the quarter-finals of the competition next month.

Christensen, who has been linked with moves to Barcelona and AC Milan, has spoken out about his lack of playing time in the past.

In October, the 22-year-old said: “Right now, it’s not a good season for me, but I have to find some way to get back on. How? I do not know, but it’s up to myself to figure out.

“But right now it looks hard. We have good results and we play super good football, which only makes it harder. It’s hard for me personally, but for the team it looks great.”
